How does it work?
Helite’s electronic airbag technology contains 2 sensors:

The two sensors are paired and analyze the situation. Once a fall or accident is detected the vest automatically inflates before ground impact.

1. THE VEST & THE FORK SENSOR
Possible detection cases:
• Slipping, loss of grip, loss of control: the CDU sensor detects the fall and triggers the airbag system depending on the situation.
• Collision with a vehicle or obstacle: the fork sensor detects the impact and sends a signal to the CDU vest sensor which analyzes the situation and activates the airbag if necessary

2. THE VEST ONLY:
Perfect for race track
For track use, the "fork sensor" is less essential: only a few
accidents occur at low speed and collision with a vehicle or
an obstacle are rare.
Possible detection cases:
• Slipping, loss of grip, loss of control: the CDU sensor analyzes the situation, detects the fall and triggers the airbag system if necessary.
We ensure you a detection time between 31 and 60 ms
at a speed of 35 km/h (that covers 85% of accidents).
We performed tests in collaboration with UTAC, the French technical union for Automobile, Motorcycle and Cycle. Thanks to these tests we validated our detection time.
Test during a frontal impact against a stationary vehicle:
- Detection time of the motorcycle fork: 31 ms
- Detection time of the CDU sensor situated in the airbag vest: 62ms
- Detection time of the wirless airbag from a competitor: 95 ms
This is and remains our PRIORITY
The airbag protection remains the same and hence ensures an optimal protection under all circumstances: while riding, at standstill and low speed (this is also the case for our mechanical airbag system).
